1. Agreement to these terms
By downloading, accessing, or using Compressor, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms do not limit rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
2. Local compression service
Compressor is a utility that compresses supported images and PDFs on your device. You select the input, compression settings, and any destination for saving, exporting, or sharing the result. Compressor does not provide cloud storage, file synchronization, or a remote file-processing service.
Compression changes a file's encoding, dimensions, quality, or internal representation. Output size and visual quality depend on the source file and selected settings. A smaller output is not guaranteed; the app may keep the original when a generated copy would not provide a useful size reduction.
3. Important limitations of flattened PDFs
Flattening permanently changes document structure.
Compressor renders each PDF page as an image and rebuilds a new PDF from those page images. The result is intended to preserve the visible appearance, not the original document structure.
A flattened PDF may lose or alter:
- searchable or selectable text and text extraction;
- links, bookmarks, navigation, and document outlines;
- interactive forms and form data;
- comments, annotations, attachments, and embedded media;
- digital signatures and signature validation;
- layers, transparency, and other advanced PDF features; and
- tags, reading order, alternative text, and other accessibility information.
Password-protected or encrypted PDFs are not supported. Some malformed, unusually large, or complex documents may also be rejected by safety limits or may not render as expected.
4. Keep your original files
Always keep an independent copy of the original. Review every compressed output before relying on it, sending it, replacing an original, or using it for legal, financial, medical, archival, accessibility, identity, or signature-sensitive purposes. Temporary app copies can be deleted automatically, cleared by the operating system, or removed when the app is uninstalled.
5. Optional advertising
Available free features may be supported by Google AdMob banner ads. An optional rewarded ad may be offered to unlock a feature for that use. Ad availability is not guaranteed. You may decline a rewarded ad and continue using other available features.
Advertising is subject to privacy choices and regional requirements described in the Privacy Policy. Premium access disables ads while the related entitlement remains active.
7. Responsible use
You agree to use Compressor lawfully and responsibly. You must:
- have the right or permission to access, process, save, and share each file you use with the app;
- respect copyright, privacy, confidentiality, contractual, and other rights;
- not use the app to create, distribute, or conceal unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or infringing material; and
- not interfere with the app, its purchase checks, advertising, security limits, or third-party services.
You remain responsible for your files, compression settings, outputs, recipients, and chosen storage destinations.
8. Availability and changes to the service
Compressor's local tools may remain available without a network connection, but purchases, restoration, consent forms, ads, external links, sharing destinations, and platform services can depend on connectivity and third-party availability.
Features, supported formats, limits, pricing, and third-party integrations may be changed, suspended, or discontinued. Updates may be required for compatibility, safety, or store requirements.
9. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Compressor is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. No promise is made that every file will be supported, that every output will be smaller, visually identical, complete, accessible, or suitable for a particular purpose, or that the app and third-party services will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Compressor developer is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of or inability to use the app, including loss of files, document features, data, business, revenue, or opportunity.
You can reduce risk by retaining original files, reviewing outputs, maintaining backups, and avoiding flattened outputs for workflows that depend on signatures, forms, searchable text, or accessibility structure. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
11. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when the app, providers, or applicable requirements change. The revised terms will show a new “Last updated” date. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
